Congratulations to the Junior class for a job well done. The prom decorations looked wonderful. What a nice tribute to the Senior class.
The Prom and After Prom are such fun events for the whole high school. Brings everyone together for a good time. Well worth all the time and effort.

I am soo, lucky to go to a school, where the teachers actually care about the students, and can give the attention to each one of them that need it.

In my opinion small schools have always gave students a better chance to learn and understand things. I have enjoyed being a part of this school, and community. Hopefully the school continues when I finish high school and gives the oppunity to others.

I just wanted to say thank you to Mr. Baker. He has worked very hard, not always with the easiest people, to do his job the way it should be done. Your class has taught me a lot of valuable things and I will miss you very much when you leave. Good luck in scott. I know you will be greatly appreciated, and welcomed.

A lot of effort and time went into the homecoming events. Many students participated in the dress up days throughout the week. The classes and businesses did a good job on their floats. And the pep rally was well attended. It is disappointing that none of this was included in the article sent to the paper. No pictures, no mention at all. All of the events deserved recognition.

Hello....Just wanted to let you know how much Jack and I enjoyed the recent Healy Schools Science Fair...the show in the high school gym was super outstanding..

We read each and every one of the displays and learned quite a lot about ordinary things around us!

Thank you, EAGLE students for doing such a good job of researching and your teacher (Mrs. Harper)for the outstanding job of encouraging. We were glad to be part of the fans for this event. Marletta Wilkens*2-01-08

Hats off to the Healy Eagles boys basketball team. It has been several years since we beat the Deerfield boys. The boys have really raised the intensity and the level of play. The teamwork is great and the excitement they generate is a source of pride for this school. Go Eagles!!

I believe the HS girls basketball team deserves some praise also. They have overcome some injuries, etc. and could post their best record in recent years. Their TEAM play should also be commended because individuals do not win games. Keep up the great work! Everyone should come out and support and encourage them on and off the court.

Imagine having a birthday once every 4 years. Brian Brooks can tell you all about those birthdays...15 to be exact. He, of course, is your 7-12th grade math teacher having being honored a few years back with excellence in teaching and some of his classes receiving the Standard of Excellence on the State Assessments. Otis-Bison and Scott City also had acquired him as their math/chemistry teacher. Computers are not his "thing" but ask him all about cattle and you will always eat beef!! No chicken! With lack of a something to do for his birthday, I am posting this blog in hopes that all will wish Mr. Brooks a "Happy Birthday" on February 29th.

Back in Blue - its great to see the community rally around the football young men and their decision to play their season as Eagles. These dedicated young men deserve our support on Monday nights.

Hi everybody,

I keep visiting the school website every now and then. It makes me so happy to see familiar faces. Healy was my home and will be so forever. USD 468 is a great place for students to meet their goals of being self-directed life-long learners.

My best wishes always,

Mrs. Kaur

I was very disappointed in the girls basketball section of the 2008/2009 yearbook. No stats, no quote, nothing...I am sure the coach was questioned as I saw the football stuff was there but I am wondering where the girls stuff is???

Disappointed Healy Resident

We are proud of the girls and coach and would like to have some info for the future.

For beginners, it's truly disappointing that I am even writing bad things about the school that I onced loved, that I grew up in. I'm ashamed at the school that Healy has become. The leadership and progress of the school is digusting. The discipline to students is unfair and unjust. It's sad that a school that was once so inviting, is now something I never want to see again. As a community-led school, you'd thing all teachers, faculty, students, and community would come together as whole, but as an outsider looking in, it's become a fight to see who can survive. Sure, the school is going to close. Celebrate all of the years that it has been open. Quit ganging up on each other to make yourselves feel better, so you're not the ones stuck in the middle. Be fair and learn from your mistakes, that have obviously been made. And quit ruining it for the ones who have made memories there, once called your school home, and at one time, consider you to be someone that looked up to you. That for sure, is no more. Thanks.

In response to
Disappointed Healy Resident

We are sorry that the girls basketball team did not have stats, scores, quotes, etc. We also believe this should be in the yearbook. The coach was asked numerous times for this information and none was given. We are on a deadline but believe ample time was given, as this page was not completed until the end of May!! With only two girls and the advisor doing the entire book, I believe they did the best they could with the information they received.

Respectfully,
Kurt Grafel, Eagle Yearbook Advisor

An early fall 2010 edition of the Eagle Tale story stated how much better the website for the school is this year as compared to last year. In my opinion, if it is so much better why is it not up to date? (For that matter, have anything on it?) I'm sure that many people would like to see this updated. At least during the previous years things were kept current and patrons could keep up to date with happenings.
